Our Specialty Services
Simple or complex, common or rare, we treat a variety of illnesses and diseases affecting pets’ internal organs and bodily systems. If ascertaining a diagnosis is proving elusive or treatment is not bringing about the desired results, your veterinarian may refer you to an Internist.
Examples of conditions for which your family veterinarian might refer you to AVIM include:
- Anemia or other blood disorders
- Complicated pancreatic disease
- Coughing and other breathing problems
- Endocrine diseases (adrenal tumors, thyroid disease, diabetes)
- Recurring vomiting or diarrhea
- Infectious diseases
- Kidney or bladder ailments
- Liver inflammation

To See is to Know
There are many ways to go about obtaining a diagnosis. Knowing which modality to use in any given situation is the first challenge. Then having the ability to perform the imaging study or procedure, evaluate the results, and therefore make a recommendation on the best course of treatment is the yet another skill set. At AVIM, we are skilled at performing, administering and interpreting a variety of diagnostic technologies and treatment procedures.
